Windows to the World

Set atop 50 acres of coastal Rhode Island farmland, this compound-style home—designed by homeowner Karen Clarke with support from Horner Millwork—seamlessly blends traditional and modern architecture to capture sweeping ocean and countryside views. Horner Millwork provided custom windows, doors, and stair systems, using Kolbe’s Ultra Series and VistaLuxe® lines to maximize transparency and connect the home to its natural surroundings. Sustainability was a priority, with features like a geothermal system, a 53-panel solar array, and energy-efficient glass, while thoughtful design elements—including a protected garden courtyard and a restored barn—honor the site’s natural beauty and heritage.
