Quiet Luxury
Just steps from Sandwich’s historic boardwalk, a thoughtfully restored 1845 residence was reinvigorated as a timeless yet livable tribute to Cape Cod’s heritage. Spearheaded by Salt Architecture, R.W. Anderson & Sons, and Mackenzie & Co., the renovation preserved the home’s Factory Street-facing façade while expanding the interiors for modern living. Tackling structural challenges from past additions, the team prioritized historical integrity with features like reclaimed brick, period-correct woodwork, and custom carvings referencing the town’s glassmaking past. Inside, Mackenzie & Co. layered New England charm with European influences and natural materials—creating a home of quiet luxury, organic textures, and refined detail. Highlights include a tailored cigar lounge, an inviting kitchen with a limewashed plaster hood, and a bespoke potting room. With every space curated for longevity and character, the residence embraces Sandwich’s legacy and stands as a deeply personal forever home.
