Brotherly Love
Set within a treasured stretch of Katama on Martha’s Vineyard, these two custom homes celebrate the enduring connection between family, place, and thoughtful design. Designed by Outlands Design and built by Stedman Construction for identical twin brothers, the residences occupy land that has remained in the family for generations, transforming a shared legacy into two distinct expressions of coastal living.
While united by familial ties, each home was tailored to reflect the unique lifestyle and priorities of its owners. One embraces the surrounding woodlands through expansive glazing and a strong connection to nature, while the other is oriented toward distant water views, offering a more traditional interpretation of Vineyard architecture. Rather than mirror one another, the homes complement each other through a shared commitment to craftsmanship, functionality, and meaningful family gathering.
Landscape design by Matthew Cunningham Landscape Design brings a connection between architecture and environment, weaving native plantings and naturalistic forms into the sites. Together, the homes create a lasting family compound that balances individuality with connection. What endures is a place where traditions can continue, new memories can be made, and future generations can remain rooted to the land that continues to shape their family’s story.
