A Promise to the Past

In a beloved waterfront home in coastal Rhode Island renovated for a new era, the project team aimed to preserve its historic character while transforming it into a vibrant year-round gathering place for generations to come. Sweenor Builders and Taste Design Inc. collaborated closely to honor the home’s original craftsmanship while introducing modern functionality, comfort, and a renewed connection to the surrounding landscape. From restoring intricate plaster ceilings and stained glass details to reconfiguring the kitchen around sweeping water views, every intervention was guided by a deep respect for the home’s history. Sweenor Builders’ meticulous craftsmanship and innovative construction solutions protected and enhanced the residence’s most treasured features, while Taste Design Inc. layered interiors with timeless materials, collected furnishings, and thoughtful details inspired by the home’s coastal setting. In a seamless blend of past and present, what stands is a residence where historic artistry, contemporary living, and family traditions come together to create a legacy home designed to welcome future generations.
