See the Top 6 Kitchens Awarded at Clarke Designer Appreciation Night
September 22, 2016 – Six spectacular kitchens were honored at Clarke’s Annual Designer Appreciation Night at the newest Sub-Zero & Wolf Showroom and Test Kitchen (7 Tide in Boston Seaport). Here are the winners of the Kitchen Design Contest among 71 entries from 2014-15.
Contemporary Kitchen – First Place
Richard Bertman, Ellen Perko and Emily Cotter at CBT Architects
Remodel done in partnership with Rosemary Porto and Yaoying Huang of Poggenpohl. The space links the interior of the home with the natural exterior, while maintaining a ‘clean, ergonomic kitchen.’
Contemporary Kitchen – Second Place
Treffle LaFleche at LDa Architects & Interiors
An addition and expansion to the rear of a traditional-style home. The design combines the architectural language with a kitchen that serves as the gathering place of the home. Collaboration with Rosemary Porto of Poggenpohl.

Jan Gleysteen at Jan Gleysteen Architects
A Boston home capturing the homeowners’ northern European heritage. The clean, functional and modern design simultaneously captures the warmth of New England architecture.
Traditional Kitchen – Second Place
Mark Haddad at Haddad Hakansson Design Studio
The team (Susan Cracraft, Louie Kerbici and Mark Haddad) transformed a limited amount of space with natural light and smart storage while incorporating the homeowner’s antique pieces.

A kitchen occupying the entire first floor while maximizing its waterfront views.

One complementing living area was created from an irregular space setup on several floors. The team (including Michal Gallin of Gallin Architects and Interior Decorator Renae Cohen of Renae Cohen Designs) combined rich woods, luxe textures and top-notch appliances in this sleek space.
