Subtly Coastal Interiors

Embracing the essence of a coastal location in your home doesn't require an overload of coral, seashells, or nautical motifs. Instead, consider the feeling of living by the sea—breezy, serene, and fresh. Expert interior designers use soft color palettes, organic textures, light and airy compositions, and more to subtly evoke the seaside atmosphere. By incorporating these elements thoughtfully, they create spaces that truly capture the spirit of coastal living.

Acampora Interiors

Inside a dreamy Nantucket home, Corinne Acampora of Acampora Interiors infused the space with a palette of soft ocean blues, taupes, and sandy hues—a subtle nod to its seaside locale.

In the open-concept kitchen and dining area, the palette transitions to feathery shades of sky blue and rose combined with airy whites and neutrals that enhance and reflect an abundance of natural light. Unlacquered brass fixtures and wood furnishings offer a sense of warmth and character to achieve a collected, lived-in feel.

Centrally located, the dining room is designed for versatility, easily transitioning from casual to formal occasions with a table that extends to accommodate up to twelve guests.

Digs Design Company

This dream home project in Edgartown is a prime example of how to achieve a subtly coastal design aesthetic, with interior design by Digs Design Company, architecture by Patrick Ahearn Architect, and construction by Adam Moran Builder.

Jocelyn Chiappone of Digs Design Company applied her signature “Digs Mix” in the Great Room of this Edgartown home, layering bold blue patterns against a crisp white backdrop to create a vibrant yet serene space. The lucite coffee table allows the Raul textile prints on the stools to stand out, while vintage end tables add a curated, collected touch.

Avoiding nautical clichés, the blue and white color scheme captures classic coastal charm with a unique and joyful Digs style that is both inspired and distinctive.

SV Design

This oceanfront home perched on a Cape Cod bluff strikes a balance between sophistication and relaxation. While its well-proportioned design ensures that everything has its place, the overall feel remains inviting, comfortable and casual. Transom windows on the east side of the home flood the interiors with natural light, offering an open and airy atmosphere.

Collaborating with the client, SV Design chose contemporary furnishings alongside a handful of custom pieces to create a refined yet effortlessly timeless Cape Cod style. Inspired by the surrounding landscape, the designers incorporated greens, blues, and sandy tones to seamlessly draw the outside in.
