Doreve Nicholaeff Architecture (DNA) is a women-led boutique architectural firm renowned for transforming creative visions into timeless designs. With a commitment to authenticity, the firm creates spaces that reflect each site’s unique character and align with clients’ personal lifestyles. Rejecting fleeting trends, DNA delivers inspiring, practical designs through a collaborative and personalized process.

Founded by award-winning architect Doreve Nicholaeff, the firm embodies her innovative approach and passion for detail. A South African native, Doreve earned her architecture degree from the University of Witwatersrand, receiving the South African Institute of Architects' Graduate Scholarship. She later completed an Advanced Masters in Architecture at MIT.

Before establishing DNA in 1986, Doreve honed her skills at renowned firms, including Gensler Associates and Moshe Safdie & Associates. She contributed to the restoration of Boston’s historic landmarks and authored The Planning and Development of Copley Square, an architectural study of the iconic site. Seeking creative ownership of her projects, Doreve transitioned to residential design, where her work has been consistently celebrated.

Headquartered in Osterville, Massachusetts, DNA has flourished, delivering projects across New England and beyond. Licensed in Massachusetts, New York, Florida, and Rhode Island, and approved by NCARB, Doreve is also a member of esteemed organizations, including the American Institute of Architects and the Royal Institute of British Architects.
