Salt and Light

Situated on a historic saltworks site, Salt and Light is a stunning blend of preservation and innovation, where the original 1787 wing of the home was salvaged and seamlessly integrated into a newly constructed residence by Architectural Design (AD) Inc. Led by Peter Haig and David Bushnell, the project honors the past through adaptive reuse, repurposing original materials and preserving the home’s architectural significance, while creating a modern living environment thoughtfully oriented to the surrounding marshlands. With an emphasis on natural light, stunning views, and a harmonious mix of antiques and new furnishings, the home captures a timeless spirit rooted in history and reimagined for contemporary life.
