In the heart of Charlestown, SV Design revitalized a single-family townhouse with a graceful blend of colonial charm and lively British charm. Led by Senior Project Manager & Interior Designer Kristin Landreth and Associate Architect Katy Finkenzeller, the project celebrates the home’s original millwork, plaster crown molding, and distinctive architectural details while infusing fresh personality through bold wallpapers, herringbone brick flooring, and thoughtfully layered finishes. Central to the renovation was balancing antique character with modern livability, seen in features such as a chef-inspired kitchen designed around the client’s culinary career and the inventive addition of a Witches’ Stair—a unique alternating-tread staircase that provides easy access to the private rooftop. The result is a home that feels warm, collected, and timelessly sophisticated, tailored to support the family’s evolving life stage as new parents.
