Bridging Eras
Blending historic preservation with contemporary architecture, this exceptional estate transforms a dramatic hillside into a seamless composition of architecture, interiors, and landscape. Noury-Ello Architects restored and reimagined a historic brick carriage house alongside a newly constructed residence, linking the two with a transparent glass connector that honors the distinct character of each structure. Youngblood Builders carefully preserved the carriage house’s historic exterior while reconstructing its interior for modern living, and Sargent Design, in collaboration with Citizen Artist, created timeless interiors that unify old and new through a restrained palette of natural materials. Surrounding the home, LeBlanc Jones Landscape Architects embraced the site’s existing woodland, preserving mature trees, incorporating native stone uncovered during excavation, and creating immersive outdoor experiences that strengthen the relationship between architecture and nature. Through close collaboration across disciplines, the project celebrates the site’s history while introducing a sophisticated, contemporary vision where preservation, craftsmanship, and landscape come together in perfect balance.
