A Family Footprint
When architect David Boronkay of Slocum Hall Design Group and interior designer Kristen DiBella joined forces to renovate DiBella’s own 19th-century Victorian in Wellesley, Massachusetts, the project became a reflection of their shared passion for old homes and design collaboration. The once-compartmentalized residence was reimagined into an open, modern family home while preserving its historic soul. Clever engineering introduced steel beams and reimagined layouts to maximize sightlines and flow, while timeless details, such as latch-key locks, oak-paneled rooms, and carefully collected furnishings, honor the home’s Victorian roots. The result is a thoughtful dialogue between past and present, where historic character and modern comfort coexist in harmony. More than a design showcase, the home is filled with collected treasures that have a story, embodying both the spirit of thoughtful craftsmanship and the rhythms of family life.
