David Magee joined the family business in 1984, at age 12, working during his school breaks. This marked the beginning of his most intense training in custom home building. That early hands-on experience on site as a carpenter taught him every aspect of high level carpentry from framing to finish work to collaborating with subcontractors. At the age of 19, David obtained his Massachusetts state construction supervisor license which he’s continually maintained since. He earned an A.A.S. from Wentworth Institute of Technology and a B.A.S. from Fitchburg State University both in construction management. After college, David worked as a site supervisor. Five years later, he shifted to the management side of the industry, where he worked for the next 18 years as a SR. Project Manager for Carpenter and MacNeille Architects and Builders, The Classic Group Inc., Brookes and Hill Custom Builders Inc and Merz Construction Inc. David's management perspective is understanding the importance of listening to clients as well as communicating and collaborating with each team. He has worked with some of the most select builders, tradesmen, sub contractors, design professionals and clients. In 2019, 35 years later, he circled back to his roots to completely restart Magee Builders.
