Trending: Animal Prints

Animal print is showing up on the runway and in the most stylish home interiors. These prints are bold, but they don’t need to overpower your space to be effective.Thoughtfully choosing the color tone and placement of animal print can give your space warmth and tasteful personality.

If animal print scares you, start small. Select one piece of furniture or one home accessory and if you end up liking it, get more. The LDa living room/ home office below takes this approach. The traditional room has lots of fun color and light, and the cowhide desk chair in the back fits right in. Other animal print pieces can be incorporated into the space easily.

Muted animal prints are another option for those not sold on the trend. Below, two muted leopard prints accent the white and ivory room beautifully. The muted print remains within the neutral beige color palette easily.

The kitchen may not the most obvious room for animal print, but we promise you it can be done! Below, a white and black leopard print adorns the high dining chairs, making for a wonderful mix of the traditional and the eclectic in this space.

Don’t be afraid to mix and match animal prints. In fact, this approach is recommended over sticking to one print for an entire room. Below, cowhide print chairs and a zebra print rug complement a warm and inviting living space. By keeping colors to earth tones, the space is not overwhelmed by the prints.

Rugs are another great place for animal print. The living room below has a wall-to-wall leopard print carpet, which fits nicely with the rest of the minimalist space.

A snakeskin print rug may seem wild, and it is! But we think it looks great in this living room, and creates a truly eclectic vibe.

Another unique animal print not often seen is deer hide – the staircase runner below has a deer hide-inspired print flecked with metallic gold. The result is an of-the-moment and unique take on the animal print trend.
