Pantone has announced today that Radiant Orchid is the color of 2014. Pantone chose this color because it “encourages expanded creativity and originality, which is increasingly valued in today’s society.” Last year, Pantone chose Emerald as color of the year because it serves as a symbol of growth, renewal and prosperity. Radiant Orchid is an interesting color, because it’s not just one color: It’s fuchsia with a blend of pink and purple undertones. Orchid is a captivating and easily draws attention with its warm, unique tone. It’s a great accent “pop” color that can liven up an interior. Pair it with turquoise, teal or light yellow.
