Sudbury Home & Hearth Tour 2015

Don’t miss the first annual Home & Hearth Tour, hosted by the Sudbury Historical Society. The tour will take place on Saturday, May 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and will feature homes on Lower Concord Road from Town Center to Mill Village, including six private homes, the Hosmer House, and the History Room at the Goodnow Library.

Guests will get the chance to see how the Lower Concord Road neighborhood has evolved over time as homes were built and remodeled, businesses opened, and town buildings added to the streetscape. The neighborhood has grown over the past two centuries, yet it has held onto its unique architectural character due to thoughtful ownership and the town’s establishment and protection of two historic districts.

In addition to the House Tour on May 16th, the day will also feature shopping and dining in Mill Village and Sudbury Town Square, as well as antique and craft booths. The Route 16 Ramblers Bluegrass Band will also be performing at the Hosmer House.

The tour begins at the Hosmer House, where guests will get the chance to pick up their tickets and tour booklet. The booklet will provide the guide for the day, and is filled with information about the neighborhood’s history. Guests can either walk the tour or drive their cars, as designated parking spaces will be provided along the route. Sudbury Historical Society members will be present at each stop to explain the history behind the home.

Tickets are on sale now, $25 for general admission and $20 for Sudbury Historical Society members. Contact SHSHomeTour@sudbury01776.org or call Sally Hild at 978 443-3747 to reserve your tickets or for more info. You can also pre-register online at GetLocalMA.com.
