At Roots & Rocks Landscape Artisans, landscape design is not just about enhancing the outdoors. It’s about creating something lasting, grounded, and deeply connected to place. With a signature approach that blends artistry, function, and permanence, co-founders Dan Gladu & Corey Magliozzi have crafted timeless outdoor spaces using locally sourced, often reclaimed natural stone for over a decade.

Their work favors enduring beauty over fleeting trends, sculpting organic landscapes intended to evolve with time while remaining rooted for generations. From hand-selecting granite with historic origins to designing every element with intentionality, Roots & Rocks is redefining what it means to live beautifully with the natural world.

The owners are involved in every step of the project, from consulting and designing, sourcing the materials, to the artisan quality craftsmanship, they leave you with a solid foundation to enjoy your landscape years after the project is completed. Beyond their multifaceted talent lies another remarkable quality: these artisans source their stone locally—primarily granite—in past projects reclaiming it from historic restorations, such as the Longfellow Bridge, or repurposing long-ago quarried materials to give them a second life. 

“There was something to the permanence of this craft that pushed me towards custom stonework”, says Gladu, Co-Owner and Founder of Roots & Rocks, Inc. “We are trying to build with materials that last forever; legacy projects that could be passed on to the children or subsequent owners. We stay away from trends, and stick to a classic look with our own little twist on it”. 

Specializing in custom crafted stonework combined with a lush, planted landscape, Magliozzi and Gladu are here to serve New England. “We are adding value to the property in hopes that it never gets replaced for the lifetime of that home,” says Magliozzi, Co-Owner and Founder of Roots & Rocks Inc. “Once you work with us, you’re not going to need to replace it fifteen years later—you see the quality and value that comes in a landscape designed and crafted to endure.”

Roots & Rocks Inc. was founded in 2012 through a growing friendship and collaboration between Magliozzi and Gladu. Their passion for the outdoors and dedication to their families inspire their work and their clients to embrace and appreciate the carefully curated spaces they create. Today, the company has blossomed into a unique practice and an all-encompassing one-stop shop for all that their clients could possibly need in an outdoor renovation.
