Design applications of Pantone Color of the Year 2020, Classic Blue

For over twenty years, the Pantone Color Institute has declared a fresh, vibrant shade as the Color of the Year. Every year, the Institute’s color experts travel the world, analyzing trends and searching for global color inspiration in all areas of design before choosing a shade to honor. This year, the Pantone Color Institute decided to name 19-4052 Classic Blue as the color of 2020.

19-4052 Classic Blue is a timeless shade that symbolizes peace, tranquility and dependability in a time of uncertainty as we enter into the new decade. Executive Director, Leatrice Eiseman, explains why the Pantone Color Institute chose this stunning hue; “We are living in a time that requires trust and faith. It is this kind of constancy and confidence that is expressed by PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue, a solid and dependable blue hue we can always rely on. Imbued with a deep resonance, Classic Blue provides an anchoring foundation. A boundless blue evocation of the vast and infinite evening sky, Classic Blue encourages us to look beyond the obvious to expand our thinking; challenging us to think more deeply, increase our perspective and open the flow of communication.”
