A Must-See Cape Cod Waterfront Kitchen Renovation

Provincetown Cape Cod Custom Home

What better place to enjoy your homemade meals than on the beach? This Provincetown kitchen goes through a dramatic improvement with views to die for. With a front-row seat to Cape Cod Bay, this space needed changes in order to open up the dead space throughout the room to expand the Cape Cod light.

Open Kitchen Makeover

Deborah Paine, a Cape Cod design/build firm, literally brought the sunshine into the existing enclosed home kitchen. Half-walls that fenced in the kitchen were eliminated and a brighter wall color was incorporated to expand the volume of the room to draw the sweeping views inside. Wood floors replaced the original tile to reflect light and color while the ceiling angles draw visual interest; allowing the kitchen to flow through the dining area and living room.

Residential kitchen beach home renovation

Switching out the two window panels on the west façade with three larger panels opened the entire wall that was previously hiding the Provincetown waterfront sunsets that stretch to the west from Beach Point to Wellfleet in the east. The pentagon peak window addition behind the sink and a side light automatically creates a priceless panoramic view from window to window.

Additional counter space and cabinet storage was added due to the wide-open space. Updated appliances and a wet bar allow for a smooth transition to the dining area while stone countertops frame the entire kitchen in gold.
