GALLERY EVENT: THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 7:00 pm
Join us for a special evening at the gallery featuring talks by artists in Three Stones Gallery's current show, "Views from the East": MARGARET RACK, a sculptor whose mixed media installations are inspired by Cambodian "floating homes"; NAN HASS FELDMAN, a painter inspired by Japanese landscapes and culture; YARY LIVAN, a traditional Cambodian ceramics master; and JENNIFER M JOHNSTON, gallery owner, co-curator of this show, and fine art photographer.
TAI-CHUN PAN will perform an interlude of traditional Chinese music. SHELLEY DRAKE HAWKS, co-curator of the show, will discuss her new book, "The Art of Resistance" on secret art during China's Cultural Revolution (1966-76) and show an excerpt from her new film, "The Lotus and the Red Star: Conversations with Chinese Artists", featuring the photography of Jon Burris, whose work is also in the show.
