Chef Ming Tsai opens new restaurant in Boston

DSC00316
Chef Ming Tsai and noted restaurateur Sean Gildea will open a new Asian gastropub on Wednesday in Boston.

The new restaurant called Blue Dragon will feature Ming Tsai’s signature East West twist to many traditional pub favorites. The menu will be filled with delicious tapas-style snacks, small plates, signature platters, and a sizeable collection of drinks, including Ming’s own communal Dragon Bowl. Blue Dragon is located at 324 A Street in the Fort Point Channel area of Boston’s Seaport District. The A Street Deli formerly occupied the space.

The interior of Blue Dragon has been totally transformed into an intimate dining area. Feng shui by Master Natalia Kaylin worked on the interior to create a mix of Western machine-age influences, such as barn board and brick, and paired it with the artistry and patina of Asian antiques. Master Kaylin also worked on Blue Dragon’s exterior and directed the installation of the roof’s weathervane. The weathervane’s architectural cone allows Blue Dragon’s presence to stand up to the tall buildings around it. This auspicious shape is repeated back inside as a base to some tables and bar stools.

The Seaport District is an excellent place to visit for lunch or dinner in Boston. Both Tsai and Gildea agree that the restaurant is located in a great area. The Seaport District is known as one of the hottest growing areas in Boston.

Ming Tsai also owns Blue Ginger, located in Wellesley, MA and hosts PBS-TV’s Simply Ming. Ming also hosted a special reception for the design community at Clarke’s Action Kitchen earlier this year.

Blue Dragon will be open Monday-Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Guest validated parking is available. For more information click here.
