Boston Design Week 2016 is Here
The annual celebration of fine design in Boston is here again! The 12-day city wide festival that is sponsored by Cutting Edge Homes is full of events that touch on all aspects of design. Here is a glimpse at some of the event highlights hosted by Boston Design Guide professionals.
Wednesday, March 30th
Design Week kicked off on Wednesday with the Grand Opening of Venegas & Company's new showroom in the South End. The new 5,000 square foot space is located at 477 Harrison Avenue.
What's a kick off celebration without a dance party? Landry & Arcari Rugs and Carpeting hosted Dance with the Designers at their Boston showroom located at 333 Stuart Street.
Thursday, March 31st
The 2016 ASID New England Annual Awards Gala – This yearly gala represents the highest level of excellence in the Interior Design community, honoring those that work to advance the profession while effectively communicating the impart of interior design and it's ability to enhance spatial experiences for all.
Learn how to create a custom designed closet for the way you live at Closet Couture – Organizing Your Closet with Style at Molteni & C. located at 450 Harrison Avenue in Boston.
Friday, April 1st
Boston Design Center's Showroom Stroll and Sample Sale is Friday, April 1st from 10am-5pm and Saturday, April 2nd from 10am – 5pm. Enjoy discounted prices on luxurious home furnishings at selected showrooms. Also experience the debut of Vintage Vignettes – some of the Designers on Call have paired up with the Market Stalls to design vignettes inside select showrooms.
Interior designer Rose Ann Humphrey of Home Life has paired up with Restoration Resources to create displays inside the Carlisle Wide Plank Floors and Allstone showrooms. Also stop by Jewett Farms + Co. to view a display by Barbara Bahr Sheehan Interior Design and Meredith Tomlin-Hilliard.

The New Conscious Culture at Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams at 142 Berkley Street in Boston. In conjuction with Design Veritas, the event asks visitors to consider the following concepts when contemplating design for your home: Sustainable – Mindful – Simple – Creative – Empowering.
Feinmann, Inc. is hosting Insights from an Award-Winning Design/Build Team. Spend two hours with Owner Peter Feinmann and his team of designers and builders as they share insights and expertise about planning and running custom renovation projects that are beautiful and functional. The event is at their office located at 27 Muzzey Street in Lexington.

Boston Design Guide invites you to join us for a panel discussion on how to successfully downsize from the suburbs to the city at IL Decor located at 10 St. James Ave in Boston. Hear tips and trade secrets from professionals and homeowners on selling your home; furnishing, renovating, maximizing your space, and more! The home professionals on the panel are: Beth McDougal of McDougal Architects, Tony Salem of Sea-Dar Construction, Paula Daher of Daher Interior Design, Brian Gibson of Elite Media Solutions, Sally Wilson of Wilson Kelsey Design, Collin Sullivan of City to Suburbs Real Estate, and Peter Feinmann of Feinmann, Inc. – For more info click here

B/A/D Talk – Building a House? Get the Best from your B/A/D Team from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Samuel Adams Brewery located at 30 Germania Street in Boston. The talk will cover the topic of how a homeowner should assemble, manage, and participate with a team of professionals to produce a new home or remodel an exisiting one. The panel includes Andra Birkerts of Andra Birkerts Design, Bob Ernst of FBN Construction, John Meyer of Meyer & Meyer Architecture and Interiors, and homeowner Christina Van Houten.

The CotY Awards (Contractor of the Year) will be held at the Clarke Kitchen and Design Showroom at 393 Fortune Blvd in Milford from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. The awards showcases the work of the finest professional remodels in our region.
Thursday, April 7th
The AD20/21 Gala Preview opens at The Cyclorama in South Boston from 5:30-9pm. For the past nine-years, the event brings together 50 select exhibitors offering modern to contemporary fine art, photography, jewelry, furniture, decorative arts, sculpture, fine prints and drawings and more at the only show of its kind in New England. The exhibit is open from April 7th-10th and hosts special programs throughout those days. For more information click here
