The Boston Design Center is now officially part of the new Innovation and Design Building. The Boston Design Center, home to many of the top design professionals in New England, is a staple in the design community. Every year we attend many showroom parties, events, speakers, and more at the BDC. It’s also the ‘go-to’ place for design professionals to travel with clients to visit showrooms.
In 2013, Jamestown acquired the leasehold interests in the Innovation and Design Building and committed to making the facility a thriving innovation location. Located in Seaport, the hottest up-and-coming area of Boston, the area is also home to industrial companies, fisherman, beer brewers, and cruise ships.
The new Innovation and Design Building will have 25% of it renovated and repaired. The improvements will include activation of the ground floor with food vendors, kiosks, seating, new event spaces, retail shops, and restaurants. In addition to the building being the new home to New England’s premier antiques market, there will be a start-up program for early stage entrepreneurs and makers community of skilled artisans and craftspeople.
