Woodmeister Master Builders: Blending French-Inspired Millwork with Modern Flair

Great millwork can take any space to the next level. In this recently completed residential project, Woodmeister Master Builders brought a highly tailored vision to reality through precise craftsmanship and deeply considered design, where every surface, storage solution, and architectural detail works in harmony.

Design Rooted in History, Crafted for Today

The design draws inspiration from the clients’ love of Paris and the elegance of the Art Deco movement. This influence is expressed through strong geometric forms, rich materials, and a refined sense of symmetry, hallmarks of 1920s design, while still supporting the needs of modern living.

“Precision-built trifold doors conceal both the dry bar and adjacent office when not in use,” explains Brian Kenney, Director of Millwork. “The construction had to be exacting to allow for a smooth, durable operation while maintaining tight, consistent reveals. When opened, the assembly exposes a fully integrated bar with a 2k Urethane finish, a one-inch-thick glass shelf, and brass inlay seamlessly let into the casework fronts, panels, and base.”

Precision Behind the Scenes

Every millwork component was designed, engineered, and fabricated off-site at Woodmeister’s 100,000-square-foot shop in Holden, Massachusetts. This approach allowed for exceptional quality control and coordination across all elements before installation.

Once complete, each piece was carefully packaged and transported to the residence, where Woodmeister’s installation team ensured a seamless fit, bringing complex, highly detailed designs together with precision.

Everyday Moments, Elevated

Throughout the home, custom millwork transforms everyday spaces into elevated design moments. Perhaps the most personalized element of the project, the butler’s pantry was designed around the client’s own fine china collection:

“We spent a great deal of time thoughtfully planning the layout of the client’s cutlery built-ins to ensure each piece had a designated place within the silvercloth lined china cabinet,” explains Mike Walsh, Millwork Engineering manager. “Each item was brought into our shop so we could map out the arrangement in full before finalizing the drawer and cabinet layouts.”

Collaborative Craftsmanship

This renovation reflects a close collaboration among the project team—each contributing to a unified vision in which architectural millwork is not simply an addition, but an integral part of the design language. Every detail, from concealed functionality to expressive materials, shows that true craftsmanship lies in both what is seen and what is thoughtfully hidden.
