How To Revamp Your Wallpaper Style

Wallpaper has been a decorating staple for as long as we can remember. Recently, though, wallpaper has gotten a revamped look: we’re seeing mural style photographs, prints, and patterns acting as wall coverings, and we think it looks great. Embellished wallpaper like this can really transform a space into something spectacular.

Why cover your walls in plain wallpaper when you can choose a beautifully patterned one instead? Below, this beige and white wallpaper pattern is the perfect answer to a small bathroom space, and complements the dark wood vanity perfectly.

To give your space a glam update, don’t rule out snakeskin. It sounds crazy, but when chosen in a neutral shade like this cream-colored example, the result is tasteful but unique.

If you’re willing to really take a risk, garner some inspiration from the jungle-inspired bathroom below. Palm fronds in shades of deep, dark green provide the wallpaper in this daring space. It is complemented by other bold shades like deep purple and black.

Tree wallpaper in black and white has a more subtle effect. Below, the sketch-like tree pattern has a subtle sophistication, and the black and white make it a staple upon which to build the rest of your space.

We’ve also seen photographs and sketches acting as creative wallpaper. Below, a photo has been enlarged to cover the entire wall in a life-like mural style. The design brings the outside in, making the room feel large and open.

In a similar way, the wallpaper below was inspired by photos of wooden wine cases. The result is a quirky and unique take on a traditional bathroom.

Maps, too, make a great wallpaper alternative. In this light and breezy nautical space, a map of the home’s surrounding area and ocean is used as a creative and fitting wall covering.
