THIS YEAR, Boston Design celebrates the “Spirit of Collaboration”. Anyone who embarks upon any type of construction or renovation knows about the stress that could potentially result from such projects. Collaboration was such a big theme this year that we decided to highlight a few of the great collaborative efforts by some of Boston’s best within a special section.
A homeowner recently told me that the best part of her latest project was the fact that everyone working on her home collaborated to produce amazing results with minimal stress. So many factors contribute to creating the perfect home, and the same can be said for the production of Boston Design.
Offering intimate glimpses into real homes – not just staged showrooms – is in itself an incredible feat. A home is a private place; it is where memories are made and personal moments are shared. It is not a natural setting for a photo shoot, complete with lighting and camera equipment. This year more than ever, homeowners willingly opened their doors to our team in an effort to recognize the trades-people who crafted their homes – a true testament to the businesses we feature in our publication. The homeowners do not receive compensation, are often inconvenienced during photo shoots and rearrange their schedules to accommodate us. They welcome us into their homes, giving you – the Boston Design reader – an intimate look at the superior quality of work that they appreciate every day.
