Company Profile:

Barbara’s designs bridge old with new and often incorporate colors derived from nature: flora, plants, rocks, ocean, sun, sky. She is known for having an eclectic and whimsical flair, creating a variety of stylish interiors. Passionate about helping her clients identify and express their style, she works with them to develop an interior in which they can feel nurtured but also renewed. Barbara’s skills and multi-cultural background allow her to feel at ease designing for a variety of styles, whether eclectic, global, modern, modern country, transitional or coastal interiors.

Barbara is fluent in French (her mother tongue) and English. She spent her childhood in Europe and Washington D.C., and moved to Paris as a young adult, where she studied Graphic Design at the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Graphiques (E.S.A.G- Atelier Met de Penninghen) and obtained her diploma as a Fashion Designer and illustrator at the renowned Studio Berçot in Paris, France. In addition, she took classes with the Parson’s School of Design branch in Paris.

If you are planning to work with an architect or a team of contractors, Barbara will collaborate with them to ensure the space planning and material selections are harmonious and respect the design goals. Barbara has collaborated with some of the top construction and builder firms, such as S + H Construction or FBN Construction Co.

Recently, Barbara teamed up with Dowel Furniture to create a line of chairs, ottomans and tables. Entitled the “Barbara Elza Hirsch” Collection, this line has an ‘old-world-meets-new-world’ style inspired by the designer’s French background. Colors, different wood finishes, and a variety of fun trims and fabrics define the look.
