Boston Design Guide's first annual issue was published in 1997 by editor and publisher Melanie Kaplan. Designed to be a comprehensive resource guide for the upscale home, Kaplan began a tradition of featuring the best of the best, assuring that the magazine would be filled with high quality professionals and products. On the editor's page of the premiere edition, Kaplan wrote: "There is so much talent in Boston, why look any further? Anything you could ever dream for the home is right here in Boston, just look through these pages and be convinced." These words still hold true today, and as Boston Design Guide has grown over the past 12 years, so has the talent showcased on our pages.
